First of all, I want to welcome all of you to the new blog! Please participate using the “Comments” function — it’s available on every post!
This site was originally launched to help facilitate information and registration for our first-ever “Nourish The Dream” event, which was held in Sarasota, Florida in November, 2006. We are currently working on plans for the 2007 event, but we are also interested in staying in touch in a variety of other ways. Watch for articles, downloads, and other resources to become available on this site in the days ahead.
In the meantime, please take advantage of the opportunity to subscribe to updates via e-mail. If you are someone who is interested in making a difference with your faith, but don’t necessarily feel like the pulpit is the main place for you to do it, then this is especially for you! Here’s a quick form you can fill out to stay up to date on all the latest resources:
About David G. Johnson Entrepreneur, Writer, Speaker and Consultant... David founded Nourish The Dream in 2006 to help connect entrepreneurs, business owners and Kingdom-minded people from all walks of life with world-class resources, training and resources to increase impact.

Dave: Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I am excited to see your blog up and running. I look forward to seeing what else you have to say, and the encouragement those words will have on others.
To add to your comments, Ed Silvoso in his book Anointed for Business states “The most common self-inflicted put-down is ‘I am not a pastor—I am just a layperson.’ This is all part of a clever satanic scheme to neutralize apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers along with the entire army of disciples, already positioned in the marketplace.â€
There is an unspoken word that says workplace believers are second class citizens spiritually by the words and actions we communicate. It is a sin of omission. When we use terms like “I am in full-time Christian work†it alienates those in secular work.
When we commission missionaries in public services without ever commissioning workplace believers as having equal importance, we are sending a message to the average Christian that his ministry at work is simply less spiritual and not as important as the overseas missionary.
When we view workplace believers primarily for their monetary contributions we are validating them for only one purpose.
When we equate ministry only with our activity in the local church, we are saying the rest of the week at work is not ministry.
Some interesting statistics about Jesus and where he did most of his work, often come as big surprise to many. Did you know that in the New Testament – Of Jesus’ 132 public appearances, 122 were in the marketplace?
How about of the 52 parables Jesus told, 45 had a workplace context. Of the 40 divine interventions recorded in Acts, 39 were in the marketplace.
Jesus spent his adult life as a carpenter until age 30 before he went into a preaching ministry in the workplace. Jesus called 12 workplace individuals, not clergy, to build His church.
Work in its different forms is mentioned more than 800 times in the Bible, more than all the words used to express worship, music, praise, and singing combined.
We can and do have a witness in the marketplace each and every moment we are in it. What do you want others to notice about you?
Thanks be to God for the "Nourish The Dream" teleseminar!
