I have come to view those times simply as God telling us to grow up, because we can be so immature and unrealistic in our expectations of what God is supposed to do for us. I can look back at one episode in my life where I called upon the Lord and he delivered me from two pitbulls without a scratch. One had his jaws on my left leg and the other came and took him off my leg and they both remained still, until the owner came out! Wow! Thanks David for the encouragement!
