I know God has placed a dream in your heart.
I know you have a burning desire to see it come to fruition and make a difference with your life.
I also know you are frustrated because you haven’t seen the results yet you would like to see.
There are many possible reasons why your dream hasn’t manifested around you yet. But I believe one of the biggest, and often, most formidable reasons has to do with your head. Actually, it would be more accurate to say, your heart and your head.
In order to see your dreams come to pass, there’s one principle you can not be without: Your heart and your head have to be on the same page.
What do I mean by this? I’ll break it down and make it very clear: the dream in your heart needs to match the pictures or the movie you are playing in your head.
You see, every day you are writing the movie of your life with the thoughts you think. It’s that simple!
And guess what—I can tell what your thinking about! In fact, I can read your mind! How can I do that? I just look at your life and I can tell the thoughts you think by the life you are living. Wow!
And trust me, this isn’t some silly hocus-pocus or mind game I’m playing. It’s the truth. Let’s verify it by going to the Word!
Here’s a scripture that will knock your socks off : Proverbs 23:7! Here it is from Young’s Literal Translation:
For as he hath thought in his soul, so [is] he.
An even more accurate rendering would be to take out the little verb is and read it this way:
For as he hath thought in his soul, so he.
Woah…did you catch that? Here’s another way to read it:
What you think, IS.
Our thoughts are the building blocks of our lives. It’s why the Bible says to focus on good things, lovely things, true things. (Phil. 4:8)
So, if you have a dream in your heart, but the thoughts or pictures in your head don’t match that dream, there will be no manifestation of that dream. Over time, this can lead to frustration, despair, and giving up.
And here’s the kicker…your mind is deep and complex. You have your conscious thoughts and you have your subconscious thoughts.
Your conscious thoughts are comprised typically of what you have to deal with everyday: What am I going to wear today, eat for breakfast, I need to get Johnny to school by 8:00, and I have to finish my presentation, and so on.
The subconscious thoughts come from years of programming: your childhood, your upbringing, the culture around you, the messages you tell yourself and so on. These subconscious thoughts play a large role in your life and whether or not your dreams come to pass.
Your mind might be reeling right now from reading this! You might be having an epiphany right now that your head and heart are worlds… no— galaxies—apart!
Take heart, my friends! There is a way to close the gap and get them on the same page so you can see that dream manifest.
Stay tuned for Part 2 to learn how to close the gap and begin living your dream.
